Are You Afraid To Travel Solo?
Are you apprehensive about travelling alone?
REMEMBER!
Feeding FEAR will always hold you back from living your life as you wish to live it.
Step out of your comfort zone
A must read book!
I live by this beautiful quote
Your are not alone
I receive umpteen e-mails and messages from people stating they would love to go to other parts of the world. But they are frightened to do it alone.
Is it possible that you are worried about being attacked and robbed, having an accident, or becoming ill? Where will you stay? How will you cope on your own? Perhaps you think you are too old! or maybe you are too young! Consequently, the days pass while you agonize over thousands of negative possibilities of doing it alone.
Dreams can come true
You dream of travelling and visiting incredible places, but anxiety holds you back. Consequently, you amble through life on your familiar, safe, everyday road. Woefully “forever evading your dreams”, possibly never realizing that life begins when your comfort zone ends.
Often you scare yourself, especially by thinking of all the bad things that may or may not happen if you venture out of your safe little haven. Unhappily you find yourself imprisoned in a state of dread that prevents you from fulfilling your dreams.
Where you are right now,
I too have been!
I know what it is to suffer from apprehension! for many years, I lived every day trying to cope with this monster. Severe panic attacks regularly were the norm. Furthermore, I wouldn’t say I liked crowds and queues. I avoided going alone to many places. In traffic jams, I would freak out, so I often left the car parked on the side of the road. I loathed horrible heights; the thought of going up more than two stories would send me into a fluster. Consequently, I can relate to those who suffer the same afflictions.
Since I didn’t want to look back on my life and think, “if only.” I decided to solve my problem, and of course, I did. I am a living example that we can overcome our consternation no matter how big or small.
Hence, I travelled the world solo; it was just my life’s best experience. I went to the top of the incredible trump towers in New York. What a tragedy they are no longer. I happily crossed the deck of the Petronas twin towers, Kuala Lumpur. Unbelievable but a fact. I even enjoyed the bird’s eye view from the Burj al Arab Jumeirah Dubai. I kicked the butt of all my jitters, faintheartedness and worries. so, believe me! “you can too!” They say, “when you make friends with fear, it can no longer rule your life”. Never a more accurate phase. There is only one way through! Please do it! Go ahead and do it! Think of yourself as a cork in the sea. You will bob up and down but never sink! Whatever could happen in a faraway land can also occur in your home town. In my most difficult moments, I ask myself, “What is the worst that could happen?” Normally, not a lot!
Golly gosh, I can almost hear you saying, “Oh dear, I would be travelling alone!” No! my dear friends! you will hardly ever do that! Think about it! when you fly, are any other passengers on the plane? Of course, there are. What if the plane were empty? For sure, the pilot and the crew would be with you. The same applies to trains, buses, and boats. Sometimes you will probably wish you were the only one on board.
Are you asking yourself, “where would you stay?” Hostels are the answer. One of the reasons I head to this type of accommodation is because they are cheap as chips, plus they offer so many amenities to make your stay perfect. Secondly, starting chatting with people and making friends is far easier. There is something about most backpackers that makes them very approachable. Before you know where you are, you will happily converse about this and that to one and all.
Concerned about falling ill? Not such a problem! Make sure you have good travel insurance. Contrary to what many people imagine, most Asian countries are amazing regarding medical care. Thailand, Singapore, India and Malaysia have first-class hospitals. many Asians and westerners fly over to get special medical treatment
We don’t know where we’ll be in a week or a month. We do what we want for as long as possible, always trying out new experiences.

Believe me, whatever your darkest imagination conjures up. The reality is far less scary. Live life to the fullest! Please don’t allow the feelings of uneasiness and dread prevent you from making the most of every minute you are on this earth.
I am a firm believer that we should all follow our dreams.
A beautiful Spanish song by Juan Pardo, “Ciudadanos de Mundo”: – ‘Citizens of the world, If you want to, you can! and if you can, you must!”
